Caddis is a mission disguised as reading glasses. An anti-aging brand, they are here to call out the whole fountain of youth illusion, industries that profit from the fear of getting older, and the concept of "aging gracefully." And yes, they sell reading glasses.

They believe that it is time to get real about who we are and where we are in life. Get older. Own it. See stuff. Being right here, right now is right on. In spite of the fact that the entire world seems hell-bent on marketing to long-gone teen vanities or trying to scare us into an early grave.

More than just creating eyewear that is unlike any other, Caddis also makes it its mission to keep and improve its sustainability and ethical practices.

The brand utilizes two different sustainable acetate configurations. They use ECO Biodegradeable acetate which is formulated with a custom bio-cellulose recipe so the material would bio-degrade after end use thus leaving a lighter carbon footprint than traditional acetate. They also use ECO Recycled acetate which is formulated from recycled acetates to better utilize waste from the acetate production and manufacturing process thus also leaving a lighter carbon footprint. In both cases, Caddis acetates are formulated with high-density properties and annealed to mitigate material deformation and to be resistant to human and environmental attacks like sweat, make-up, sunscreen, heat, and humidity. These acetates are lab tested for resistance to these elements as well as REACH and Biodegradeable properties.

In general, all their metal alloys (combination of metallic elements) are formulated using recycled metal components from waste and scrap from the manufacturing process as well as from metals brought into recycling plants for reuse/repurpose.

Their packaging boxes, including inserts, are manufactured from recycled paper and cardboard from the manufacturing processes of all industries, and the recycled materials are brought into organizations from outside users and sources. The art applications on the boxes are all digitally printed using organic dyes and/or inks.

The microfiber bags and cloths are manufactured from RPET (Recycled Polyethelene) which is a derivative from the water bottle and plastics industry where they recycle water bottles and other consumer PET sources into raw materials that can be melted and extruded into fiber to make the cloth material. The art on the bags and cloths are also utilizing organic dyes and/or inks.

The cases are manufactured using either Apple Leather or Linens. Apple Leather is created from the reuse/repurpose of Apple waste from the food industry where the apple peels are dried and pulverized then formulated into a “leather” material that can then be manufactured into consumer products such as Caddis cases.

The linen they use is derived from the Flax Plant thus making it an organic and biodegradable raw material. Flax actually traps CO2 and requires very little irrigation (water savings) and no fertilizers thus making it a very sustainable raw material.
The art on the bags and cloths also utilizes organic dyes and/or inks.

Caddis also makes it their mission to always pay forward to the community close to the CEO and founder Tim Parr's heart. Hence they distribute approximately 1% of their net revenue to music education programs and projects including Blue Bear of Music, Young Artists Conservatory of Music, Surviving the Odds Project, Notes For Notes, California Bluegrass Association, Music In School Today (MUST), Jazz Foundation of America, Education Through Music (ETM), Little Kids Rock, Musicians Without Borders, The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, and Beats By Girls Organization.
